Our third graders were excited to welcome back their high school mentors for another meaningful Adopt-a-Classroom visit this week!
During this visit, high school students continued sharing their postโhigh school plansโwhether college, career pathways, or other future goalsโand took time to talk with younger students about what those journeys might look like. ๐โจ
These conversations are helping our third graders begin to imagine their own futures while building confidence, curiosity, and big dreams for what comes next.
We are so grateful for these powerful connections between students and the opportunity for learning to extend beyond the classroom walls. ๐

As part of their learning, students have been writing their own fictional narratives, pouring their creativity into stories they are proud to share. The excitement is building as they prepare to read their work to their 5th grade book buddiesโwhat a special audience!
This authentic experience not only strengthens their writing skills but also builds confidence and a love for storytelling. We are so proud of these young authors and canโt wait to see their stories come to life! ๐

Our third grade students recently enjoyed a special trip to the Waterville Opera House for a wonderful cultural experience!
While there, students had the opportunity to watch a live performance of The Little Prince, bringing this beloved story to life right before their eyes. From the excitement of the stage to the beauty of the historic theater, it was a truly memorable experience.
Opportunities like this help deepen studentsโ understanding of storytelling while exposing them to the arts in an engaging and meaningful way.
A special thank you to our PTG for helping make this incredible experience possible! ๐โจ

We are especially proud of the 15 recipients from our Mill Stream Elementary Schoolโ thank you for representing our school, and congratulations on this incredible achievement.

Our readers have brewed up something AMAZING! After working so hard during our school-wide read-a-thon, students earned a special rewardโฆ a trip to Starbooks Cafรฉ!
Today, the library was transformed into cozy coffee shop where students enjoyed:
๐ Choosing a free book
โ Fun cafรฉ-style treats
๐ฌ Sharing favorite stories with friends
This special event celebrated not just how much our students readโbut how much theyโve grown as readers! We are so proud of their dedication, stamina, and love for books. ๐
A huge thank you to our staff and families who helped make this experience so memorable.

A community champion is a person who collaborates with a variety of partners to strengthen school, business, and non-profit relationships for the benefit of the community and our students.

As part of her role, Kathy collaborates with several community organizations to support families with resources, and organizes events like the Multi-Cultural Family Night, celebrating all of the places our students and their families come from. She consistently goes above and beyond to make students and families feel safe, supported, and a part of this community. Students brought their learning to life by applying their knowledge of goods, services, and resources in a hands-on, real-world experience. They designed and created their own unique products, carefully priced them to sell, and developed eye-catching marketing signs to attract customers.
Kindergarten and second grade students had a blast shopping, while our first graders practiced important skills like decision-making, communication, and entrepreneurship.
It was incredible to see their creativity, teamwork, and pride shine through in every booth. What a fun and meaningful way to learn!

As part of their learning about Our Region, students are exploring how communities workโdiscovering local businesses, resources, and how people contribute to a strong economy. Through hands-on activities and real-world connections, theyโre building financial literacy, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the place they call home.
Future leaders in the making! ๐โจ
Thank you to Jessie Everett from Skowhegan Savings Bank for volunteering for this program.

Students proudly shared investigations grounded in the scientific methodโasking questions, conducting experiments, and presenting evidence-based conclusions. Alongside their science work, students showcased powerful projects from their social studies unit on the Wabanaki Confederacy, highlighting the history, culture, and contributions of the Wabanaki people.
